Hey everyone! Sorry for going MIA for a few weeks. I haven't been really feeling like myself lately and needed some time to recoup and figure out what the HECK was going on! Thankfully some down time and a few great trips did the trick and I am back and better than ever! ( Or at least speaking it into existence.) I truly hope all is well with all of you and that life has many great things in store for your future!
A few weeks ago my family decided to pack up and take a spur of the moment trip to Newport Beach for my fathers 27th ;) (47th) birthday. Let just say that by the time we had finally checked into the Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel, it was about 9 hours and 3 million stops later! We were beyond exhausted. (From the drive and each other.) ㋛ Raise your hand if you can relate? I tend to get crazy claustrophobic on long car rides, especially while sitting next to a very hyper 10 year old.
We all took in a great big sigh of relief as we entered one of the most beautiful hotels we've ever stayed in. (It's definitely one to look into if you're ever in the Newport area!) It had an incredible lobby that welcomed us with comfy chairs and a unique beach-y vibe as we walked in. It also had this really fun little library/common area with a modern record player that we had to practically tear Klay from every time we left the hotel! (Anytime we would be looking for her we would just go strait down to that room and there she was sitting next to it bobbing her little head to a beat.) The pool right outside of our hotel window was surrounded by small families and beautiful yet slightly burned red flowers that I did and still do appreciate to this day. (It's the the little things in life.)
Thankfully the weather was incredible the entire weekend! We crashed through warm waves and sun bathed the entire day. Klaiden kept rolling in sand calling herself the sand queen! Which lead to a crazy amount of sand in our car and her hair! While my Mother was collecting shells, a tiny sand crab washed up on her leg. (Poor little crab was trapped in a bucket the rest of the day.)
Through out the weekend the sun would pop out from under the clouds at just the right moments. Leaving us all with a nice set of rosy cheeks (and I don't mean on our faces.) AKA we were all SO burned it practically hurt to sit! Which definitely made for a quick, interesting, and slightly sandy car drive back. That's for sure...
